BEING A MULTILINGUAL

When I  started beginning I was 15 I watched Youtube videos,  played through lingual apps, read books, etc.
At first, I  thought it would be completed soon, but as I delve deeper and deeper I realise it's not something that can be done in a day. I have realized that learning a new language is not for only understanding the subtitles of my favorite k dramas. In short, you can say that I was a lot of confusion. Keep a goal for your journey, but don't think it is the only that matters, you need to focus on your daily life routines.

Also, it's wrong to say that focus on one thing that you are learning. It may sound like some sort of discouraging to you, but you can learn other languages simultaneously but not directly delving into them; you may read the books having foreign phrases; watch foreign dramas, etc.
There are many free courses available on the internet or maybe youtube videos, there are many foreign YouTubers like pooh in Korea, Mayo Japan & Korean.
I have continued these things for three years and now I have a grip on Korean German and Italian. I was considering myself a loser I was continuously affirming myself that I can't do this how come I can fulfill my short-term desired goals.

I am 18 now and still continuing it as a hobby; it gave me a plus point that I have a distraction for myself from my normal routine of 16 hours of study, completing assignments, from my social life.

Reading a book I remembered the character's most important rather than the phrases directly, it makes me remember the phrases in the shape of images, not letters, I had listened to the music of different languages my first lingual music was at age of 16; LOUISE by EISBLUME. I tried translators to enrich my vocabulary.

So I am concluding this small journey of mine with a luck to you people from my side. If u are confident enough to take this journey you can do it, it's not difficult, however demanding an instant outcome would be foolish for us to do that.

HERE ARE A FEW TRICKS YOU CAN TRY TO MAKE :

>Use the Laddering technique.

Laddering is when you place your known languages in a mental sequence or hierarchy. Your base language may be English, the second may be Italian and the third may be Mandarin. If you wanted to translate a word into Chinese then instead of going directly to that, you instead translate it to Italian and then to Chinese. This reinforces every language on the ladder and helps prevent confusion between languages.

> Listen to music, watch movies, or any media in the language you are learning.

Engaging in all forms of media in the multiple languages you’re learning is a great way to pick up phrases and slang. You’ll see both similarities and differences between the different languages you’re learning and can compare them to your native tongue. Movies, newspapers, music β€“ they’re all good shouts and it’s great to collect media from all of your languages to use as and when you need it.

German music for beginners:

* Regenbogen

*Namika

*Je na parle pas francais

*Muskau

*Nur mit dir

>Join a language exchange community.

It’s hard to stress quite how important practicing with the language learning community really is. The more you immerse yourself in other people’s learning experiences the better. You can bounce issues, tips, and ideas off of each other.

>Be ready to make lots of silly mistakes!

Coping with mistakes is vital to any learning, but ready yourself for some chaos and confusion for those aspiring to become polyglots! It’s all part of it and the ways you approach solving these problems will aid your learning in the long term.

From my experience I want to say that  I was getting bored out of trying to learn a new language, the main reason was I wanted all the foreign phrases I need to learn but I was not getting int the pace and not satisfied after many trials of failed attempts I decided to cope with the mistakes  I am committing & I also try to commit mistakes knowingly; it has improved my grammar sense for that particular language.

> Use a lingual mobile app

You can try Duolingo It's available both free and with a pro subscription.

there are many other apps such as Beehive, Ling Q, BUSU, Babbel, etc.

Using lingual apps for our learning will be accessible, free of cost, and efficient.

> One Step at a time: Take one step at a time when you are doing what is only for yourself. Taking a big step at a time is worthless for yourself and a little bit demotivating. You need to learn a lot while undergoing a process for yourself, you have to develop habits, reading books, punctuality, self-discipline, and most importantly perseverance.

Well, I still got bored often by giving my time to it asking unconsciously several questions, whether it will be useful or not and I still expect that it will just happen in one day, of course, it's not a one-day play.

I also expect like a silly that a magic spark will occur and will be a linguist in a day.

I can feel when you are stressed out but you can only handle it in your own way I am sure you can do it. I have kept my learning at my own pace I didn't compare myself to anyone and I tried.

No miracle can happen to us in our path buddies .

We all have our own on trying out a new language. Some techniques will make us bored   πŸ˜‘πŸ˜’πŸ˜“and some will makes us excited πŸ˜†πŸ˜†.
